Reeth
in Swaledale, deep in the Yorkshire Dales, is the home of Clock
Works, specialist builders, restorers, and repairers of fine
quality clocks and barometers.
Clock
Works continues the fine Yorkshire Dales tradition of the village
clockmaker. In the mid-1800s in Reeth, James Bothroyd and his
son Richard built longcase clocks, many of which still survive
in Dales homes and cottages. Today, Clock Works craftsmen build
clocks destined to become modern antiques.
On
display in our showroom are some of our hand-built clocks, and
a selection of solid wood mantel clocks and restored old and
antique clocks.
In our
fully equipped workshop we carry out repairs and restoration
work on movements and cases, sympathetically bringing antique
and contemporary clocks and barometers back to life.
Customers
can bring their clocks to the workshop for appraisal or in some
cases we can collect and deliver.
