This short longcase (or Grandmother) clock is in a traditional style with solid oak case, a late 17th Century style flat top supported on slender, turned columns and brass dial with engraved chapter ring and cherub head corner spandrels. The hood and trunk doors are fitted with bevelled edged glass.

The high quality 8-day, chiming movement plays Westminster chimes on the quarters and strikes the hour on an eight-rod gong. Weight driven on brass chains, it has a wooden rod pendulum, with a polished brass bob.

The weights have polished brass weight shells and the chimes are fitted with night silence as well as a front shut off lever for complete silencing of the chimes and strike.
