Repair and Restoration of Antique & Contemporary Clocks

Like many Yorkshire Dales villages in the 19th Century, Reeth had its own clockmaker. James Bothroyd and his son Richard, made 30 hour and 8-day long case clocks, many of which can still be found working today.

150 years later, I founded Clock Works in Reeth, to offer a comprehensive repair, servicing and restoration facility for all types of clocks (other than cuckoo clocks), and barometers.

After 13 years in Reeth and having reached a particular birthday last year (!) I decided to relocate to Clitheroe in The Ribble Valley.   Clitheroe, dominated by its castle and the spire of St.Marys, the parish church, is situated between the Trough of Bowland and Pendle Hill and centrally placed for the Dales, the Lake District and the Fylde Coast.

I will be working from a small but fully equipped workshop which will be fully operational on the 29th March 2010 to offer my experience and skills to the people of the Ribble Valley and beyond.    I am looking forward to this new challenge and to looking after your clocks.

I will be unable to accept personal callers but offer a free collection and delivery service within 30 miles of Clitheroe.    I will collect from further afield but a minimum charge of £50 will apply.

Repair estimates are free and all repairs are guaranteed for 12 months.

You can contact me by telephone on 01200 442323 or by e-mail on info@clockmakers.co.uk
